75 an hour 14 days ago 14 days ago 14 days ago Buy Sod, a multi-state agribusiness company with sod farms in the Carolinas, Tennessee and Georgia is currently seeking to hire a motivated Full Time Equipment Operator responsible for planting, mowing, fertilization, irrigation, spraying, harvesting and general farm operations.
The Equipment Operator safely operates mowers, harvesters, planters, tractors and/or forklifts as needed on a daily basis.
Equipment Operators are responsible for ensuring equipment is washed, filled with fuel and any assist with necessary maintenance completed/reported daily.

Report safety issues and concerns to management in a timely manner.
Must maintain a neat and clean working area regardless of location/machine.
Responsible for general maintenance such as greasing, changing blades, checking chain tensions, checking tire pressures, checking for worn bearings, checking fluid levels etc.
Thoroughly clean/wash machines as needed to prevent cross contamination.
Keeps the yard neat, clean and orderly and free of debris allowing for safe operation of equipment.
Performs day to day operations around the farm using a variety of hand tools such as shovels, rakes, machetes, weed eater, etc.
Carefully and properly flag pallets and big rolls as directed.
Load sod for customers by hand and with forklift (training required).
Weigh pallets of sod and relay weights to Harvest Manager/Harvester Operator.
Stages sod neatly in an accessible area with forklift (training required).
Must maintain a neat and clean working area (tractor cabs).
Mows specific locations as directed by Farm Management.
Position Requirements:
Previous experience as Farm Equipment Operator preferred.
Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession.
A valid State Driver's License with clean driving record.
Ability to discern what issues need to be brought to upper management.
Ability to work flexible hours to include, but not limited to, early AM/PM, nights and weekends and hours that could fluctuate day-to-day.
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions required.
Physical Requirements:
Must demonstrate ability to be a team player and build positive working relationships with others Ability to lift, push, pull heavy materials (50+1bs) frequently.
Additional pay available commensurate with education/experience.
